Living in India vs Living in the UAE — Your Personal Tax Compared on the Same Income
Enter your income by head and where it arises; see the total tax living in India as a resident against living in the UAE as a non-resident — Indian slab and special rates, UAE corporate tax on a UAE business, the foreign tax credit, the Indian-source income that stays taxable, and the residency rules that decide whether the UAE column holds.
Your income for the year (₹)
“Arises in” decides what India still taxes if you live in the UAE — Indian salary, Indian property, Indian assets and Indian business stay taxable in India.

What the comparison assumes
Living in India: resident and ordinarily resident, taxed on worldwide income under the new regime for FY 2026-27 — slab rates with the ₹12 lakh rebate (and marginal relief) on slab income, ₹75,000 standard deduction on salary, listed-equity gains at 12.5% (long-term, above ₹1.25 lakh) and 20% (short-term), other long-term gains at 12.5%, other short-term gains at slab, rent after the 30% deduction and interest, surcharge and cess; UAE corporate tax paid on a UAE business is credited against the Indian tax on the same profit. Living in the UAE: non-resident in India for the whole year — fewer than 182 days, and outside the 120-day rule and the deemed-residency rule for Indian citizens with Indian income above ₹15 lakh — so India taxes only Indian-source income, at the same rates but with no rebate, and the UAE taxes a business through a company at 9% above AED 375,000 (0% for qualifying free zone income) and nothing on salary, rent, gains or interest received personally. Not modelled: the year of the move, treaty relief on Indian shares, TDS timing, UAE VAT, the cost of substance, and the place-of-effective-management rule.
